Hello everyone :)
For the captain’s concept, I imagined that he died long ago and that an oceanic force took possession of his body, allowing an armored arm to grow and piranhas to spill from his collar, raising questions about what remains of his body—what is truly left of him.
He wields two sabers: one of human size, and the other monstrously huge and heavy, impossible for a human to use, reinforcing the sense of an inevitable threat of death.
The shark jaws tell part of his human past, when he was a completely mad and bloodthirsty pirate who loved hunting in the oceans, targeting both humans and sea monsters alike.
Despite this, I kept a very human base to avoid overwhelming the viewer with too much unstructured information. In short, he is a pirate — undead — possessed by the ocean depths. It is, in a way, the big–medium–small strategy.
For the colors, the goal was to achieve something dirty, aged, and darkened by centuries of wandering. The armor is damaged, the sabers completely rusted by the blood of his victims, and the coat has long since lost its former splendor.
I hope the design speaks for itself and that you’ll all enjoy it
